Step One - The Initial Design Consultation
This first appointment is complimentary. This is your chance to get a sense of my approach to creating a decorating plan for your home. During this consultation you’ll have the opportunity to share your vision for your home and establish a budget for your decorating project. I’ll take measurements, digital photos and gather anything else I’ll need to coordinate your project. If it’s a small project, involving minimum design time, we’ll set another appointment for me to come back to show you a design for your approval. If your project is complex, requiring multiple fabrics, design concepts, and various products, a retainer is required to cover my time in selecting the components for your design. The retainer is completely deductible when you make a purchase within 60 days of the presentation. With regard to projects that require service-oriented guidance (e.g. selecting paint colors, furniture placement or brainstorming ideas for your home), an hourly fee for my service begins at the conclusion of the initial consultation.
Step Two - The Design Presentation
On your second appointment I will bring fabric samples, design drawings, wallpaper and/or paint swatches and other items needed to visualize your project. It’s much easier to make good design decisions when you see how fabrics, colors and textures will look in your home—in your lighting and with any furnishings you’ve decided to keep.
All details of your project are important, and no more so than installation day. I will be on hand to supervise the delivery and/or installation of your items. You will never be left with a delivery person who simply delivers your furnishings, leaving you wondering where everything is supposed to go. I’ll oversee installations, steam window treatments, arrange furniture, make your bed, and arrange rugs and accessories as needed. There’s no need for you to lift a finger, just sit back and enjoy your new surroundings!
